Console Commands

Welcome to CK2 console commands!

To use console commands, you need to open the console. You can open the console by typing the ~ or ` key. This is usually below the Esc key and to the left to the 1 key.

Disclaimer: Because commands can sometimes make unexpected changes to your game, it is recommended that you save your game before using any commands.

Console Command
Description
add_artifact add_artifact Adds an artifact to the given character
get_all_artifacts get_all_artifacts Give all artifacts to target character, or the player's character if no target is specified
destroy_artifact destroy_artifact Removes an artifact from the given character, destroying it
add_diplomacy add_diplomacy Modifies the base of a character's diplomacy attribute
add_intrigue add_intrigue Modifies the base of a character's intrigue attribute
add_learning add_learning Modifies the base of a character's learning attribute
add_martial add_martial Modifies the base of a character's martial attribute
add_stewardship add_stewardship Modifies the base of a character's stewardship attribute
add_offmap_currency add_offmap_currency Gives the player currency with the specified offmap power. For example, to add grace with China: add_offmap_currency offmap_china 5000
add_trait add_trait Adds a trait to the character. Opposites traits are checked. Trait names are all lower case. If no character ID is inputted, the trait will be given to the character you are currently playing instead. The same thing also proves true with the remove_trait command.
remove_trait remove_trait Removes a trait from the character
add_modifier add_modifier Adds a modifier to a character
remove_modifier remove_modifier Removes a modifier from a character
age age Modifies a character's age
banish banish Banishes a character
capital capital Moves player capital to province
clr_moved_capital clr_moved_capital Clears the moved capital-flag of a character. Argument does not work, confirmation needed.
cash (wealth) cash (wealth) Adds gold (default 5000)
claim claim Gives a claim to yourself or another character
coalition coalition starts/joins/leaves a coalition against
council_positions council_positions Shows the ai scores of each council position
clr_focus clr_focus Clears the focus of a character
culture culture Sets a character's culture
decadence decadence Sets the Decadence of the player's Dynasty
decision decision Executes a decision
die die Die a natural death
enforce_peace enforce_peace Triggers the enforce peace mechanic in the player's realm. Council must be empowered, other requirements are waived. seems to be ignored, confirmation needed.
liege_enforce_peace liege_enforce_peace Triggers the enforce peace mechanic in the player's liege's realm. Council must be empowered, other requirements are waived. seems to be ignored, confirmation needed.
enable_ambition enable_ambition Allows a character to pick a new ambition
event event Executes an event for yourself or for another character or province.
testevent testevent Tests an event without triggering it
favor_get favor_get Get a favor from character
favor_grant favor_grant Grant a favor to a character
gfx_culture gfx_culture Sets a character's gfx culture based on default graphical_culture of a culture. Ex: gfx_culture 10 norse
give_birth give_birth Forces a pregnant character to instantly give birth.
give_title give_title Gives a title to a character
infamy infamy Sets the infamy of the player
imprison imprison Imprisons a character by another character
join_society join_society Join a society. Valid society names are: monastic_order_benedictine, monastic_order_dominican, monastic_order_orthodox, monastic_order_nestorian, monastic_order_monophysite, monastic_order_hindu, monastic_order_buddhist, monastic_order_jain, hermetics, the_assassins, the_satanists, the_trollcrafters, the_cult_of_kali, the_cold_ones, the_plaguebringers, and secret_religious_society_.
leave_society leave_society Leave a society
kill kill Kills a character
kill_yourself kill_yourself Kills your character. Does not work ("Not today QA!"). Use die instead.
move move Moves a character to a character's court
neg_opinion neg_opinion Adds a negative opinion between two characters
nickname nickname Gives a character or the player a nickname
piety piety Adds piety to the player (default 5000)
play play Switches to play a character (WARNING: This deletes and resets the chronicle of your current character each time you switch.)
prestige prestige Adds prestige to the player (default 5000)
run run Executes script commands from a text file. The file must be in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2/ folder (as appropriate for your OS). Commands will be executed in the scope of the player's character.
score score Adds score to the player (default 5000)
techpoints techpoints Adds 1000 technology points of each type to the player
max_tech max_tech Maxes out tech in all provinces, or in specified province
recalc_succ recalc_succ Recalculate the succession for a character or the player
religion religion Sets a character's religion or player if character not supplied
secret_religion secret_religion Sets a character's secret religion.
set_government set_government Changes government to specified type (accepted inputs are merchant_republic_government, nomadic_government, feudal_government, theocracy_government, tribal_government, republic_government, muslim_government, theocratic_feudal_government, chinese_imperial_government, confucian_bureaucracy)
titleowner titleowner Reports or sets the holder of a title. Does not include tribal capital holdings.
validate_government validate_government Validates government of a character
validate_laws validate_laws Validates the laws of a characters primary holding
validate_lieges validate_lieges Validates the liege of a title
set_char_flag set_char_flag Sets a flag for a character
clr_char_flag clr_char_flag Clears a flag from a character
set_society_grandmaster set_society_grandmaster Sets the grandmaster of the society you're in to the given character
show_all_societies show_all_societies Shows all societies in list of society view
society_rank_up society_rank_up Ranks player up in society (default 1)
society_rank_down society_rank_down Ranks player down in society (default 1)
society_currency society_currency Adds society currency to the player (default 5000)
quickbuild quickbuild Player's constructions are finished immediately
usurp usurp Sets a title to be usurped by a character
vassalize vassalize Sets a character as your vassal.
activate_artifacts activate_artifacts All artifacts are always active regardless of activation triggers.
allow_laws allow_laws Toggles the ability to change laws freely
real_fathers real_fathers Shows the true fathers in the family tree
charinfo charinfo Adds debugging information to character, title and event tooltips. Reveals your spouse's other lovers
de_jure_counties de_jure_counties Shows de jure counties map mode
discover_plots discover_plots Toggles auto plot discovery
fow fow Turns off fog of war in a province or in general
game_speed game_speed Sets the game speed, from 0 to 4
game_paused game_paused Toggles/sets the game paused state, argument must be lowercase
get_offmap_holder get_offmap_holder Displays the name and character id of the current holder of an offmap power
set_offmap_status set_offmap_status Sets the status of the specified offmap power (e.g. china_stable, china_unrest...)
set_offmap_policy set_offmap_policy Sets the policy of the specified offmap power (e.g. china_open, china_isolationist, china_expansionist)
kill_offmap_ruler kill_offmap_ruler Kills the ruler specified offmap power
kill_offmap_dynasty kill_offmap_dynasty Kills the ruler specified offmap power, and generates a new one of a different dynasty
manpower manpower Adds nomadic manpower to a nomad player character (default 5000)
population population Adds nomadic population to a nomad player character (default 5000)
marry_anyone marry_anyone Toggles the ability to marry anyone
morehumans morehumans Adds more humans
neg_diplo neg_diplo Toggles the ability to send diplomatic messages that will be refused

outbreak outbreak Starts specified disease outbreak in a random province. Black Death may only start in Kundina and Jiuquan

dynasty_stats dynasty_stats Displays various dynasty statistics, including the number of unique dynasties and how many historical dynasties have died off.

pollinate pollinate Impregnates a character by another character
cuckoo cuckoo Impregnates a character by another character, father unknown
revolt revolt Starts a Revolt in a province
succ succ Changes the succession type (WARNING: Dangerous). Valid values: feudal_elective, primogeniture, gavelkind, seniority, tanistry, turkish_succession, merchant_republic_government, tribal_government, nomadic_government, chinese_imperial_government, confucian_bureaucracy

add_friend add_friend Makes the character your friend
